The oldest part of the Stagecoach Tavern dates back to the mid to late 1700’s, and historical records show that it first operated as a tavern in 1829. It was in fact a stagecoach stop, and we like to think of those weary travelers stopping for comfort and revival when we welcome our guests for an evening.
It has had a colorful and oft changing history since its earliest days as the Giles Andrews Tavern. As an English Pub in the 1950's, 60's and 70's the Stagecoach was the pit stop for racecar drivers from Lime Rock Park and a favorite locals' watering hole.
In 2004, owner David Rothstein and his son Michael purchased the property, and in partnership with Dan Smith, chef/owner of John Andrews Restaurant, breathed new life into an old treasure.
